Post mommy makeover scar, treatment?
Scars are inevitable with any surgical procedure, however we understand more all the time how to make the scars less obvious. Once Dr. Marion removes the surgical dressing, he encourages patients to shower and allow soapy water to run over the incision lines. The scars will usually have surgical tapes over them that are allowed to get wet in the shower. Once these are removed, a silicone scar ointment (biocorneum) is applied twice daily for the three months. We also discuss the role of scar massage and protection from UV light for the first year after surgery.
